Don Bachardy was born in Los Angeles on May 18, 1934.  Bachardy studied at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles and Slade School in London.  For the past 50 years, he has lived in Santa Monica, California in the home that he shared with his life partner, the writer Christopher Isherwood.
